Eliminate the Troublesome Back Pain and Eye Strain Linked to Extensive Computer Use

Do you recall the old proverb about how computing would improve our lives? We would have more free time and live healthier, happier lives. The truth is that computers make information processing lightning quick. The computer and the Internet have introduced into our lives so much more information to process and so many more distractions. The conclusion? Today, we spend more time operating a computer (for pleasure and profit) than on any other solitary activity, with the possible exception of sleeping. And if you're a heavy computer user like me, sleep occasionally takes a back position to computer use. There are health risks associated with prolonged computer use. I have personally experienced back and shoulder pain, eye strain, and finger paralysis. Even stiff joints and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome have plagued me. None of this was entertaining. But I have learned a few things of sufficient importance to share with you today. Here are some immediate steps you can take to reduce or eli

XBOX 360 vs. PS3: A Comprehensive Comparison

All enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the release of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation PS 3. This article provides a comprehensive comparison of the two systems.

Graphics:

Everyone has witnessed an Xbox and a PS2 in action, and we are all eager to see which of the two next-generation consoles for these two systems will have the superior graphics. We have all seen screenshots of the titles on the two platforms, but what about the in-game visuals? Examining the statistics reveals that despite the heated debate, the two systems use distinct but equally effective methods to deliver graphics processing power. The XBOX employs a custom ATI processor with 48 graphics pipelines, whereas the PS2 has a custom NVIDA graphics processor with approximately 24 pipelines. Because the PS2 pipelines are more powerful than the XBOX pipelines, the figures are deceiving. In the end, the two distinct graphics processors will provide roughly the same amount of power, so we can anticipate impressive results from both parties.

XBOX 360 vs. PS3

Games:

Several franchise titles, such as Halo2 for the Xbox 360 and Gran Tourismo for the PlayStation 2, will be available on both next-generation systems, but what other games can you anticipate? If you enjoy categories like role-playing that are dominated by Japanese and other foreign developers like Square, you should anticipate the PS3. There are no indications that the XBOX 360 will attract significantly more foreign developers and purchasers than the original XBOX. According to an article on GameSpot.com, only 2% of Japanese enthusiasts are interested in purchasing an Xbox 360, while 60% are anticipating the PS3 and 8% the Nintendo Revolution. In general, the PS3 will have a larger selection of titles than the Xbox 360, reflecting the current generation of consoles. Time will tell which console will deliver the game quality we've all been anticipating.

Media Format:

Will the sort of media storage affect the quality of the games? Since Sony owns PS3 and BLUray is its next high definition storage medium, PS3 games will be stored on BLUray discs with a capacity of approximately 54 gigabytes. The Xbox 360 titles will be stored on 9-gigabyte Double Layer DVDs. Obviously, the BLUray discs can store a lot more data than the 9 gig DVDs, but at the current stage of game development, any game developed will fit just as well on the 9 gig DVDs, so this is not a significant factor, but it may become one in the future.

Processing Capacity:

How do the two systems compare in terms of raw processing capacity? The PS3 employs a Cell processor with a PowerPC-based core and seven synergistic processing units, whereas the Xbox is equipped with a Custom IBM PowerPC CPU with three dual-threaded cores that can manage a total of six threads. The number of dot product calculations that a system can perform per second is an essential metric to compare. This number is significant because it is used extensively during gameplay in 3D math to calculate vector lengths, projections, transformations, and other variables. Both systems operate at 3.2 gigahertz. The PS3 can perform 51 billion dot product operations per second, whereas the Xbox can only perform 33.6 billion. Although these numbers can be confusing to the average individual, it appears that the PS3 has an advantage over the Xbox when it comes to processing power overall.

Games:

When contemplating games, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 must be considered. The XBOX is very popular in the United States and has a few excellent franchise games, such as Halo, but the PS2 has a greater international presence and more popular game franchises, such as Gran Tourismo, than the XBOX. To compete with the PS3, the Xbox 360 will need to attract foreign game developers and consumers. Time will tell which console will deliver the game quality we've all been anticipating.

Controllers:

Modifications have been made to the original form of the controllers on the two systems, but the controllers' overall appearance remains the same. The PS3 controller has undergone the most radical redesign; it now resembles a stealth aircraft more than a game controller. The XBOX controller is essentially identical to the previous system's controller, with a distinct color scheme. It appears from the images that the XBOX controller will be more ergonomic and intuitive to use. The PS3 controller appears to be extremely slippery, but we will not know how the controllers feel during actual gameplay until we get our hands on them.
